Anyone wishing to see a typical branch-line passenger train of the WWI era need look no further than the Nevada Northern, which once ran for 150 miles. Passenger service ceased 50 years ago, but the management chose to preserve Baldwin 4-8-0 No. 40, built in 1910, as well as a fine wood railway post office/baggage car and an exquisite wood coach. Retired in 1962, the train was refurbished a quarter-century later, along with a NN 2-8-0 that had been on display for decades.
